Final submission Presenting the complete ElectroCap workflow On June 9, 2026, we submitted the project poster and video, bringing together the hardware prototype, multi-node gait analysis pipeline, clinical dashboard, and validation work developed throughout the semester.

Testing With Patients at Egas Moniz Hospital

Field testing From the lab bench to a clinical environment Our team visited Egas Moniz Hospital to test the first version of our wearable motion-tracking prototype with patients and collect feedback from a real physiotherapy context.

First Version Of The Prototype Is Available

The team has finalized the first version of the hardware prototype. This preliminary version includes 4 nodes (2 ankle and 2 knee). The remaining hip node is still being soldered and its case is being 3D printed.

Meeting With Egas Moniz Hospital Neurologist

The team met with Dra. Marta Magriço, neurology specialist at Hospital de Egas Moniz, to present our project and discuss the possibility of testing the prototype with patients.

Fifth Meeting With Our Project Supervisor

Today we held the fifth meeting with our project supervisor. We discussed topics such as updates on prototype assembly, website redesign, dashboard development and overall next steps.

Website Redesign

We’ve completely overhauled the project website, featuring a new look that’s more consistent with the dashboard’s design language.

Intermediate Presentation

The team presented our intermediate pitch to the project supervisor and other ElectroCap groups, where we went over the system architecture, solution beneficiaries, technical challenges, progress up to this point and future timeline.

First Web App Dashboard Version Is Under Development

We’ve started development of the Web App integration, which consists of a clinician-ready dashboard that displays the gait metrics from a given phisiotherapy session. As was the case with our private Python test scripts, the user can select a saved csv file, containing the IMU data from that session, on top of which the fusion algorythms will be applied to compute the metrics.
