On June 27, 2026, we presented our prototype at ElectroDay, where students, professors, and visitors could interact with the prototype, explore the dashboard, and discuss the clinical motivation behind our wearable motion-tracking system.
ElectroDay was the moment where the full project finally moved from development into public demonstration. Throughout the fair, we presented the wearable IMU nodes, the final poster, the monitor presentation, and the dashboard workflow that turns walking data into gait metrics and longitudinal patient summaries.
The booth gave visitors a direct view of the complete system: the physical nodes, the sensor placement strategy, the data acquisition workflow, the multi-node gait fusion logic, and the clinical dashboard designed for physiotherapy sessions. It was especially rewarding to explain how the system connects hardware, signal processing, and interface design into one practical tool.
What We Presented
During the fair, we focused on communicating ElectroCap as a complete workflow rather than only as a hardware prototype. Visitors could see how each part of the system contributes to the clinical goal:
- five wearable IMU nodes for lower-body motion capture;
- BLE-based data acquisition and CSV session import;
- multi-node gait fusion for cadence, step timing, variability, and asymmetry;
- patient profiles for longitudinal monitoring across physiotherapy sessions;
- PDF reports and visual summaries for clearer follow-up.
The dashboard was a particularly important part of the presentation. It helped us show how raw motion data becomes something interpretable: session cards, trend graphs, gait metrics, patient notes, and exportable summaries. This made the project easier to understand for visitors who were less familiar with the embedded systems side of the work.
Feedback and Reflections
ElectroDay also gave us a valuable opportunity to practice explaining the project to different audiences. Some visitors were interested in the electronics and synchronization logic, while others focused more on the clinical use case and the rehabilitation workflow. Having both the hardware and the dashboard available made those conversations much more concrete.
The fair was also a good closing milestone for the team. After months of soldering, enclosure design, BLE testing, gait analysis development, dashboard redesign, patient testing, poster preparation, and pitch rehearsals, we were able to present our project as a coherent prototype with a clear purpose.
We are proud of what we managed to build and grateful to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, challenged assumptions, and helped us see how the project could continue beyond the fair.
