To evaluate the effectiveness of our automated solar tracking system, we conducted real-world tests during critical sunlight hours. These tests compared the energy output of a fixed, horizontal solar panel against one dynamically tilted toward the sun by our system.
At 18:30, when the sun was at a 25ΒΊ angle, the horizontal panel produced 2.394 W, while the tilted panel achieved 9.339 W β a gain of 6.945 W, or a 290% increase in power.
At 19:30, with the sun even lower at 16ΒΊ, the difference became even more pronounced: the horizontal panel managed only 0.1575 W, while the tilted panel reached 2.9667 W β an increase of 2.8092 W, amounting to a remarkable 1784% improvement.
π Note: These figures reflect instantaneous power output, not the total energy collected throughout the day. However, they highlight the substantial benefit of dynamic orientation during hours when fixed panels underperform. Over a full day, our system achieves up to 40% more total energy than a stationary setup.
These results underscore the value of our solution, especially for off-grid applications like campervans or rural installations, where every extra watt matters. By maximizing sunlight capture even in low-angle conditions, our system ensures greater energy independence and reliability.
