Big milestone this week — we assembled all the mechanical components and ran our first full test of the solar tracking platform!
The tilting mechanism is working flawlessly. We also added end-of-course switches to the linear actuator to ensure it stops safely at its limits.
The rotation mechanism is operational too! It successfully moves the structure, although we noticed the motor is struggling a bit with the weight. We’re considering testing a stronger stepper motor to improve performance.
We took the system outside for testing, and it was amazing to finally see the whole structure moving.
