Project Updates

Week 13 (Jun 02 - Jun 08)

Team Astroship

This week, the 3D modeling of the chest device enclosure was finally completed. The team member responsible for this task went to iStarLab to carry out the 3D printing. The first print did not go as expected: it was necessary to adjust some measurements and add a grid to allow the RP2040 board’s microphone to capture sound correctly. In the second—and so far, final—print, the grid was properly printed; however, the enclosure lid came out smaller than what had been set in Fusion. Fortunately, the box closes properly, and the remaining openings were as expected.

Throughout the week, part of the team continued developing the final presentation, which is to be delivered next week, as well as the poster for EletroDay.

This Friday, the team visited the company we are collaborating with for the last planned visit, with the goal of presenting and testing the finished prototype, as well as recording part of the project presentation video. During the demonstration, a small issue arose with the data reception and processing platform, due to the fact that it had been developed in a Linux environment, while the computer used for the demo ran a different operating system. This caused some code incompatibilities, which have since been resolved. Aside from this minor setback, the prototype worked perfectly, and the team was invited to return to the factory in July to present the project to the remaining members of the company’s management.

Final Prototype

This Monday, the team will have its final meeting with the supervising professor, where the finalized prototype will be presented and possible feedback and suggestions received, as well as clarifications on what information should be included in the poster and the final project presentation.
