Project Updates

Week 10 (May 12 - May 18)

Team Astroship
#project#progress#updates

This week began with our biweekly meeting with the project advisor. During the meeting, team member João Campos was warned about the possibility of failing the project due to his lack of contribution up to that point. On the same day, João informed the team of his decision to withdraw from the project.

As a result of this situation, it was necessary to adjust the task distribution defined in the meeting held on March 30. The responsibility for the development of the electrical circuit and the PCB was therefore assigned to Tiago and Miguel.

As mentioned last week, the capacitive sensor is already operational. However, there are still difficulties in establishing the Bluetooth connection for data transmission between the ESP32C3 board and the RP2040 board. The data processing platform also remains under development.

The electrical circuit, which had not been started until recently, is now completed. The main difficulty during its development was identifying the components in Fusion, the software being used, in order to facilitate the design of the PCB. At present, the responsible team members are making adjustments to the circuit dimensions to ensure the PCB is successfully produced, as there is a possibility it may not be printed correctly.

Electrical Circuit PCB Design

On the upcoming 23rd, the team plans to carry out another visit to the factory of the company collaborating on this project. The purpose of this visit is to test the functionality of the capacitive sensor and to evaluate the performance of the noise detection algorithm after calibration in the anechoic chamber.
