Problem definition

Air quality monitoring is increasing in importance every day as the levels of pollution also increases. Our project aims to monitor the air quality, to ensure that the air is clean and free from pollutants, allergens and harmful particles. This product can also be used to monitor the air quality in air conditioning devices that can be caused by poor maintenance of these equipments.

Air quality index

To measure the quality of the air we will use an index that takes into account the concentrations of 4 different harmful pollutants (C02, NO2, TVOC and PM10), and then the pollutant with the highest concentration gives the air a grade, based on scales that show which of the 4 pollutants has the worst index, this is explained in more detail in the project proporsal below.

Testing

To ensure our product is funcioning properly we conducted a number os tests to ensure the data is as expected. In the video below you can see the series of tests we did.

More information

In the button below there more detailed information about the gases used in the the AQI scale a more in depth explaintion of it.
