The gmidi (general midi) library implements a facade interface for the most used representations of MIDI files in python, to be used transparently for MIDI file manipulation and processing. The few number of symbolic music datasets and the fact that most of them are focused on erudit music motivated me to develop these tools that are aimed for the creation of datasets for music related machine learning techniques development. I also included some simple exportation methods for vizualization and audition purposes.
