Schensted correspondence and Littelmann paths

This is on joint work with J.A. Green and M. Schocker. The aim is to explain the Littelmann path model for gln. In this case, Littelmann's 'paths' become 'words'. This leads to the representation theory of the 'Littelmann algebra' which is a close analog of the Schur algebra.
