ElectroCap is an innovative program from the
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC) at Instituto Superior Técnico, designed
to provide students with a hands-on, interdisciplinary experience in developing electronics and
computing projects. The 2025 edition of the program began on October 6, allowing
participants to develop skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and presenting innovative
technological solutions. With the support of professors, researchers, and industry
representatives, students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real technological
challenges.
Throughout the program, students will form teams and develop solutions for challenges proposed by companies and research institutes, covering various fields such as hardware, software, telecommunications, electronics, and data science. The project execution includes multiple phases, such as drafting a project proposal, building prototypes, and creating communication and evaluation materials, including pitch decks, demonstration videos, and a project blog.
The highlight of ElectroCap is ElectroDay, an annual event where teams present and demonstrate their final projects to industry experts, companies, and the academic community. The 2025 edition of ElectroDay will take place on July 5 and will feature presentations, prototype demonstrations, and feedback from professionals in the field. For students, this event represents a unique opportunity to showcase their work, build professional networks, and open doors to future career opportunities.
