Have you ever experienced an episode of acute stress in the context of your work? If so, how long did it take to feel a full recovery?
Yes, very often indeed, and I always end up taking at least 2 hours to fully stabilize; in some cases, even much longer than that.
When you feel stressed, what strategies do you usually turn to?
I try to detach as much as possible, and I also tend to make a complete synthesis of the situation, that is, to go back over all the details once more.
Would you feel comfortable using a wearable such as a band while carrying out your work?
I don’t use one currently, but yes, I would feel comfortable.
How do you see the prospect of getting a weekly report of your psychological activity in terms of focus and stress? Would it be a good complement, or just a useless feature?
More towards being a good complement. Often, having that feedback can make a big difference.
How easy is it to measure stress using sensors, and at the same time induce stress in a person?
Let’s see, stress is far from being something concrete, and it is also very hard to stress a person. You also have to clearly distinguish two sides: cognitive stress and emotional stress, which are not exactly the same thing. That said, if you capture data on a person over long periods and calibrate it with short questionnaires and tests that induce cognitive stress, you may be able to reach a good degree of accuracy.
How do you see the usefulness of having a panic button built into the wearable?
I think it’s a good complement, but (there’s always a but) many people have attacks (panic, anxiety, etc.) that aren’t aligned with stress. If that button isn’t well integrated into the solution’s infrastructure, it could end up being more of an outlier than an actual help.
