Proper experimentation, video and poster development

With the drop tower complete and with final adjustments done we finally began to properly test experiments with everything working properly.

Finishing everything and on table solution

Finished video data handling. Currently bringing every single equipment together, placing the IMU, powerbanks, camera, magnet in the box ensuring their functionalities are working… placing the RaspberryPI and control systems on the support structure etc.

Finishing up control system and video handling

Finished wiring the control system of the solenoid. Decided to develop a global control system within the new created website where with one button we can control all aspects of the different components.

Finishing acrylic box and control system

Finishing up development of acrylic box as well as final database to receive video and IMU data.

Finishing support structure and development of acrylic box

Finished a 2M support structure that is easily deployable to hold the box.

Finishing up IMU software development

Currently finishing IMU data gathering as well as development of a website to show live IMU data.

Developing the support structure

Started developing the support structure with some of the materials gathered.

Continuation of software implementation

Currently continuing the software implementation. Gathering of certain materials to develop the structure of the drop-tower has also begun.

Continuation of software development for the hardware components

Within this week we will receive some of our missing components (camera, solenoid…) and will start applying the software previously developed into these components as well.

Development of software on the RaspberryPI

With most of the base code done by simulating data given by an accelerometer, with the new IMU given we are now setting up the code to acquire real data and start setting up the IMU to send data to the RaspberryPI.

Putting experiments together

With some of the more essential materials gathered development of the physical part of the drop-tower has began.

Gathering of materials and ideas

Currently bringing forward more robust and better ideas for the development of the support structure of the drop-tower (such as a tripod structure).

Development of the software

Development of software started. Base code for acquiring gravitation accelaration and air resistance is now being developed.

Development of the website

Base site is currently complete!
