Francisco Gouveia is a Msc’s student in Computer Science and Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) developing his master thesis under the supervision of Prof. Nuno Lopes. He is a curious and driven student with a strong interest in compilers, static analysis and all things Rust-related with a special interest for automatic translation of C/C++ to safe Rust.

Francisco has been a teaching assistant at IST since september 2023 having lectured the courses of: Compilers, Analysis and Synthesis of Algorithms, Algorithms and Data Structures, Programming Foundations and Object-Oriented Programming.

On his spare time he loves to do sports, either running, cycling or playing tennis, having a particular interest for the latter, as he was a tennis instructor for 3 years in a local tennis club. If he is injured, he turns to the piano, instrument which he has studied in the National Conservatory of Portugal.
