Presentation<\/strong>

I am an Associate Professor of the Department of Physics at Instituto Superior T\u00e9cnico (IST)<\/mark><\/a>  and a researcher at the Center of Physics and Center of Physics and Engineering of Advanced Materials (CeFEMA)<\/mark><\/a>, associated with the Laboratory of Physics for Materials and Emerging Technologies (LaPMET).

I coordinate the q.m@t team<\/mark><\/a> at CeFEMA-IST and I am a founding member and one of the coordinators of the QM@PT research network<\/mark><\/a>.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Research<\/strong>

My research interests lie at the intersection of condensed matter physics and quantum information, with a particular focus on many-body strong-correlation effects and non-equilibrium processes in open quantum systems.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Short Bio <\/strong>

Prior to my current appointment at IST, I held an Investigator FCT (Researcher) - Starting Grant (2014-2019) and was an invited Professor at the Physics Department of IST (2014-2019). Before that, I was a research fellow at the Russian Quantum Center (RQC), Moscow (2014-2015). I have held postdoctoral positions at the Condensed Matter Theory Group of MIT, Cambridge, USA (2009-2010), Centro de F\u00edsica das Interac\u00e7\u00f5es Fundamentais - CFIF, IST, Lisbon (2010-2011), and the Max Planck Institute - PKS, Dresden (2011-2013).
