João Sanches is Full Professor at the Department of Bioengineering, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade de Lisboa (UL) where he coordinates the Master and Doctoral programs in Biomedical Engineering. He’s senior research at Institute for Systems and Robotics / LARSyS where he conducts research in medical and biological image analysis and statistical signal processing of biomedical data, mainly, physiological and behavioral data. He is Senior Member of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS). As a group leader, he has fostered a multidisciplinary environment that brings together experts from biology, medicine, engineering, and computer science. This collaboration has resulted in approximately 200 international publications.
